CONTRAQT / LEGAL

Service terms

Clear terms for your account, templates and subscription.

1. Who we are

These terms are between you and C. Emre Sucuoglu, trading as CES IT Services, a sole trader operating Contraqt. Our address is 83 North Lane, Portslade, Brighton, BN41 2HF, United Kingdom. For support, complaints or cancellation, email support@contraqt.app.

We are not VAT registered. Where you purchase through Stripe Managed Payments, Link acts as merchant of record and handles applicable transaction taxes. Our advertised GBP subscription price includes applicable tax. These terms apply to business and personal customers. A consumer is an individual acting wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer rights.

2. Using Contraqt

Contraqt turns your Word (.docx) documents into reusable templates with variables, optional content and calculations. You need internet access, a supported modern browser and suitable software to open downloaded Word files. Complex Word features may not reproduce exactly; inspect the generated file before relying on it.

The customer service provides Word documents, not legal advice, PDF conversion, e-signature sending or guaranteed automatic Adobe field import. You remain responsible for reviewing wording, figures, formatting and suitability. Contraqt is not a substitute for a qualified adviser.

You must be at least 18, provide accurate account details, protect your login and have authority to agree on behalf of any organisation you represent. Notify us of suspected unauthorised access. Do not share accounts to bypass plan limits, upload malicious or unlawful material, interfere with other users, or overload or probe the service without permission.

3. Plans and payment

Free
One saved template, uploads up to 1 MB each, and template editing/preview. Generated Word downloads are not included. No payment card is needed.
Starter
£2.99 per month, including applicable tax. Five saved templates, uploads up to 5 MB each, and 100 Word downloads per calendar month. The allowance resets on the first day of each month at 00:00 UTC; unused downloads do not roll over. File-complexity and security checks also apply.

A free account starts when registration is accepted. A paid subscription starts when checkout confirms the order and payment is accepted. Where checkout is unavailable, no paid order is created. A manual grant has the end date shown in your account and does not itself authorise a card charge or automatic renewal.

Checkout and receipts identify Link as merchant of record for Managed Payments purchases. Link's payment terms apply to those transactions; these terms govern your use of Contraqt. Checkout may offer a converted local-currency price, which is shown before you confirm payment. Receipts and transaction support are provided through Link; contact Contraqt for product support.

Paid subscriptions renew monthly at the disclosed price unless cancelled before the next renewal. Renewal dates appear in Plan & billing and are separate from the calendar-month download allowance. Payments, when enabled, are handled through Stripe. Failed payments may lead to loss of paid access; any amount claimed must be properly due under the contract.

We will give at least 30 days' notice of a price increase for an existing subscription. It will apply no earlier than a subsequent renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before it takes effect. We do not add charges retrospectively.

4. Cancellation and refunds

You can stop renewal through Plan & billing where online billing is available, or by emailing support@contraqt.app from your account address. You do not need to give a reason. We honour a clear cancellation notice sent before renewal even if we process it later. Keep the confirmation.

For an ordinary end-of-period cancellation, paid access continues until the paid-through date. After expiry, Word downloads stop and only your newest template remains editable. Older templates stay saved and locked until you renew or delete them; expiry does not erase your documents. You must be within the Free template limit before adding another.

Consumer cooling-off period

If you are a consumer, you can cancel your initial paid subscription within 14 days after the contract is made. We offer a full refund of that initial payment if you cancel within this period, even if you have used the service. Where you request immediate access, using it does not waive this refund offer. We refund within 14 days of receiving your cancellation, by the original payment method unless you agree otherwise, without a refund fee.

Outside that offer, cancelling renewal does not normally refund an already-started billing period. This does not affect rights relating to a faulty service, a breach of contract or any other refund or cancellation right required by law. Contact support so we can assess the problem; lawful remedies may include correction, a price reduction or a refund.

Optional cancellation form

Email or post the following to support@contraqt.app or CES IT Services, 83 North Lane, Portslade, Brighton, BN41 2HF, United Kingdom. You may instead send any clear cancellation statement.

To C. Emre Sucuoglu, trading as CES IT Services:
I give notice that I cancel my contract for the Contraqt subscription.
Ordered on: [date]
Name: [your name]
Account email: [your email]
Address: [your address]
Date: [today's date]
Signature: [only if sent on paper]

To close your account or request data deletion as well as cancelling payment, tell support. Account deletion and cancelling renewal are separate requests; the privacy policy explains retention.

5. Your documents

You retain your rights in uploaded material and generated documents. You give us only the permission needed to host, copy, process and deliver that material to provide and support the service. We do not acquire ownership of your contracts or grant rights to third-party material you do not own.

You must have the necessary permissions and a lawful basis to upload personal information about others. Remove unnecessary personal information, hidden comments, tracked changes and metadata before upload or distribution. Do not upload special-category data, criminal-offence data, identity-document scans or payment-card details.

Keep independent copies of important originals and generated files. Contraqt is not a long-term records archive. These precautions do not excuse us from our own legal responsibilities or the duty to provide the service with reasonable care and skill.

6. Business document data

Where we process personal data on your behalf as a business customer, this section forms part of our processing agreement. You are the controller, or a processor authorised by your controller to appoint us. You determine the purpose and lawfulness of the document content and supply required notices.

Scope: hosting, organising, editing, generating and deleting templates and documents for the duration of the service and its necessary return/deletion process. Data subjects may include your customers, suppliers, staff and signatories. Permitted data includes names, contact details, job titles and ordinary contract/transaction information you choose to include; the exclusions above apply.

  • We process this data only on your documented instructions, including your use of the service and written support requests, unless law requires otherwise. We inform you of such a legal requirement where permitted and flag instructions we consider unlawful.
  • We require confidentiality from authorised people with access and appropriate technical and organisational measures for the processing risk. No particular certification or absolute guarantee of security is represented by these terms.
  • You authorise Hostinger for hosting and AWS for document conversion where used. Other providers listed in the privacy policy process only the information needed for their stated function. Before adding or replacing a document-data subprocessor, we will give at least 30 days' notice and an opportunity to object on reasonable data-protection grounds. If we cannot resolve an objection, you may end the affected service with a proportionate refund of unused prepaid fees.
  • We require equivalent applicable data-protection obligations from subprocessors and remain responsible for their performance of those obligations. Restricted transfers require your authorisation and a lawful transfer mechanism, not simply a provider's choice of location.
  • Taking account of the processing and information available to us, we assist with individual rights, security obligations, breach reporting, impact assessments and regulator consultations. We notify you without undue delay after becoming aware of a personal data breach affecting your data.
  • On termination, you may choose return or deletion of document personal data. Contact support to arrange return without needing to purchase a new subscription. We delete remaining copies unless law requires retention; isolated backups are dealt with under the retention policy and not reused for ordinary processing.
  • We make compliance information available and allow and contribute to proportionate audits or inspections by you or your authorised auditor, with arrangements protecting other customers' data and security.

Our own account, security and billing records are covered separately by the privacy policy. These processing obligations do not limit anyone's statutory data-protection rights.

7. Availability and account access

We aim to keep Contraqt available, but maintenance, faults and third-party outages can interrupt access. We will use reasonable care and skill and give reasonable notice of planned material disruption where practicable. No guaranteed uptime or response-time service level is included.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, a security risk, non-payment or a legal requirement. Where appropriate, we explain the reason and allow you to resolve it or challenge it through support. Immediate action may be necessary to protect people or data. Restrictions must be proportionate and do not remove your legal rights.

If we discontinue the paid service or end it without a breach by you, we will give reasonable notice where possible, arrange a reasonable opportunity to retrieve your documents and refund unused prepaid service on a proportionate basis.

8. Responsibility and disputes

Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Consumers: we are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude statutory service or digital-content rights. The business-only limitations below do not apply to you.

Business customers only: subject to the exceptions above and mandatory law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss or loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or anticipated savings. Our aggregate contractual liability arising in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £100 or the fees you paid for that period. This does not restrict an individual's statutory claim for data-protection compensation.

Please send complaints to support@contraqt.app with enough detail to investigate, avoiding unnecessary confidential information. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Business disputes are subject to its courts. Consumers retain mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in their home jurisdiction where applicable, including Scotland and Northern Ireland.

9. Changes to these terms

Changes may be necessary for legal, security or service reasons. We will explain material changes and give at least 30 days' notice before they affect an existing paid subscription, unless earlier action is legally required or necessary for security. Changes do not remove accrued rights. If a change materially disadvantages you, contact us to cancel before it applies and request a proportionate refund for unused prepaid service.

The revision date appears above. You can print or save this page for your records. An invalid provision does not affect the remaining provisions, and a failure to enforce a term immediately does not waive it.
